CLUG Project: Many thanks !
After almost three years of hard work, the CLUG project is now in the final stages and, on behalf of the CLUG project partners, #DigitaleSchieneDeutschland (DB Netz) is organising an online webinar on 9 June 2022 analogous to the CLUG Final Event, that took place on 19th May. Anyone who is interested can participate. It will be the occasion to look back on this work and to present the huge legacy of the CLUG project. You can find the agenda at the end of the article and register for the event here on LinkedIn :

Thanks to the work teams' dedication, the CLUG project fulfilled its missions. The train localization in real time thanks to GNSS is now a achievable goal. It’s also an imperative objective for the railway sector in the future : “In order to increase the modal share of railways, digitalization is essential” recalled Luc Laroche, head of Railways Innovation Programs at DTIPG, during the CLUG Final Event.
The CLUG Project has collected big amounts of data. The railway companies implicated in that project (SNCF, DB NETZ and SBB) have worked together with Airbus and Siemens to analyze the data and present the results of the tests realized with the three test trains.
The CLUG Project has proven that synergies between major actors from space, aeronautics, naval and defense sectors can be beneficial for railway to bring up innovations. All the studies, results and projections that happened in the frame of the CLUG Project are available on our website clugproject.eu.
Next step will be to bring CLUG results into new European project to keep developing our solution, and notably the Europe’s Rail Joint Undertaking program, key program to bring up innovations in rail and push it toward standardization.
